Gondola tour on the Grand Canal

A gondola ride on the Grand Canal in Venice is exactly what you need when you are looking for romance, peace and relaxation. It is a typically Venetian custom. The Grand Canal is the main waterway in Venice, and it is lined with some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Doge’s Palace, the Rialto Bridge, and the Bridge of Sighs.

Since ancient times, in the beautiful lagoon city, people moved on these small wooden boats. Is it the wood that gives the gondolas the romantic aspect, or perhaps the solitary gondolier who accompanies you on the journey? The fact is that the gondolas in Venice have become a true symbol of the city.

Grand Canal gondolas are available throughout the lagoon to transport you and your loved ones on a timeless journey. On the narrow canals you will discover a world that has remained eternal over the years and that will take you back in time. You can take your gondola from the train station, or Piazza San Marco or, why not, under the famous Rialto Bridge.

Explore the city of Venice aboard an authentic gondola. Your gondolier will take you through peaceful waterways, romantic corners and picturesque little bridges. You will discover the main Venetian attractions and some hidden wonders among these small canals.

The ride on the Grand Canal is not private as each gondola can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. The place on board will be assigned by the gondolier according to the weight of the guests. Unfortunately, gondolas are not accessible to wheelchairs or people with walking disabilities.

During your splendid journey you will admire the House of Desdemona and the House of Mozart passing through the magnificent Teatro La Fenice, Rio (Canal) “De le Ostreghe” and reaching the most famous waterway in the world: the Grand Canal. Here you will be able to admire the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Salute Church and some of the wonderful Venetian palaces that line the canal such as Ca’Dolfin, Ca’Loredan, Palazzo Grimani and many others.

You will also see Punta de la Dogana and then return to the labyrinth of canals returning to the starting point in front of Campo San Moisè. An unforgettable experience to discover this wonderful city!

You will also enjoy a commentary available in 7 different languages!

Here are some tips for enjoying your gondola tour:

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing a lot of walking, especially if you choose a longer tour.
  • Bring a camera. You will want to capture the beautiful views of Venice from the water.
  • Dress appropriately for the weather. Venice can be very humid, so it is a good idea to wear light clothing.
  • Be respectful of the gondolier. Gondoliers are skilled professionals who take pride in their work. Please tip them appropriately.
