Ferrara Project Utrecht Project
Background
In 2006 The Provincial Administration of Ferrara took part in the Utrecht Trade Fair. The astounding success of the products displayed by the Orsatti Group has encouraged the Group to participate in 2007 on a much wider scale in terms of products and business concerns in the Ferrarese Territory. Given the continuous increase in the number of Dutch tourists who visit Ferrara and the surrounding area the Group has given “Passione Italiana s.r.l.” the task of sounding out other firms on their willingness to take part in what could be called the “ Utrecht Project”.
Gottardi (a sausage factory), Beccati Daniele (a pasta factory), La Brasiliana ( coffee torrefaction), Mattarelli (a wine industry) and the undertakings of the Orsatti Group have already given their enthusiastic support.
Making a success of this project by increasing opportunities and opening up participation to a greater number of concerns in both the public and private sectors is the mission of “Passione Italiana” for the future.
 

The project
Working together in synergy this group of firms immediately set about creating the necessary conditions for a successful outcome of the project. The first initiative was to find a suitable promoter in loco, and the first choice was Mr. Alberto Donadoni who, for some years now, has been dealing with the promotion of Ferrara and its territory in Holland.
Other initiatives include:
• a wide network of contacts with Dutch operators and importers
• a study on feasibility and marketing of the project
• a broad agreement with the organizers giving maximum media coverage to the group of Ferrarese firms both at the Trade Fair and in relative sectors at a national level.
• creation of printed and on-line advertising and informative material.
 

Aims for 2007
From all our surveys it has emerged that the Dutch market is very interested in Italy and its products.
Ferrara, boasts a long tradition in food and wine
Introducing our products abroad is one of the aims of both the company and the Institutions.
The creation of a continuous marketing network means becoming part of their culture and eating habits.
It follows that Institutions and business concerns must create the right synergies to make a go of all the initiatives that contribute to the success of the “Prodotto Ferrara”. (“Ferrara Product”)
The Provincial and Local Authorities, the Commune of Forese, The Chamber of Commerce, Associations and Trusts as strategic partners will be working work more and more closely in the entrepreneurial initiatives like this “Utrecht Project” and all the other projects that the aforementioned firms intend to carry out abroad.
